The University student health insurance policy is compliant with Federal 健康 Care Reform law (section 1302b of the PPACA).
All full-time Traditional 本科 students enrolled for a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours and 研究生 Students enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours will automatically be enrolled in the Jacksonville University Student Medical Insurance Plan and the premium for annual coverage is added to the tuition billing upon fall 登记. This plan is also automatically added for Orthodontics students, excluding those participating in the Clinical Research in Orthodontic Fellowship Program. 报道 can be waived if evidence of other comparable coverage is presented prior to the waiver 的最后期限.
Important Information for 2023-2024
Aetna has been selected as Jacksonville University’s 2023-2024 Student 健康 Insurance 提供者. The premium rates are provided below.
General Rules for Enrollment
Students may enroll after the 的最后期限 only if there has been a significant life change (i.e. loss of prior coverage) and should contact the Jacksonville University Student 健康 Insurance Administrator at (904) 256-7080 or studentaccounts@joyerianicaragua.com. A written request must be submitted to 学生账户 with documentation as to why they no longer are insured, along with proof of dropped coverage from the prior 航空公司. The rate will be pro-rated based on the month the student enrolls.

The effective dates of benefit coverage for the 2023-2024 academic year are August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024.
Special Note for 国际 Students
Your insurance company must be based in the United States. 国际 policies 不被接受. Your Plan must cover you in the state of Florida from August 1st 2023 to July 31, 2024.
Policy for Waiving the Insurance
In order to waive the Jacksonville University Student 健康 保险计划, your private health insurance must provide comparable coverage in the state of Florida. This means your plan needs to have doctors and hospitals in Jacksonville, Florida; cover you for services beyond emergency care which includes pharmacy, physician visits, mental health, surgery, diagnostic testing, maternity, preventive services; and does not have a high deductible. Traditionally, out of state Medicaid coverage does not satisfy these requirements. The insurance company must be based in the United States. Your Plan must cover you from August 1st 2023 to July 31, 2024.
豁免程序
All eligible students who have other comparable insurance coverage must file a waiver online by the 的最后期限 below in order to waive participation in the Student Medical 保险计划.
To waive the student health insurance you will need to complete the following steps:
- Go to JU's Student 健康 Insurance Waiver
- Fill in all required fields on the form
- Upload images of the front and back of your insurance card
- 提交
If the waiver information has not been submitted online by the indicated 的最后期限, the student will remain enrolled in the University's Student Medical 保险计划, and the charge for the Student Medical 保险计划 cannot be removed.
